A Week for the World

Teetering on the Edge of No Return

Our world isn’t “dying,” it is actively being killed. Fossil fuel moguls, government-subsidized polluters and corporations are profiting off of ecological destruction while millions of people face the repercussions. And while humans have caused immense harm to our planet, this earth will outlive us and our ability to cause its destruction. We are the ones that will be left behind. If this statement sounds bleak, it’s because it’s a reflection of where we are headed if we don’t make drastic change. We are teetering on the edge of no-return. So the time to act is now. The time to care is now.

Pairing Running with Environmental Change

Pairing Running with Environmental Change

My name is Kenny Moll and I am a dedicated advocate and activist for the environment. It has always been extremely important to me to play a role in environmental justice and I'm hoping to continue my participation with this upcoming project. While training for marathons over the years, I started to realize how much time and energy I was spending.

I realized I could also be using that time and energy to help fight against climate change, an objective near and dear to my heart.

Recently, with the construction of pipeline projects, such as the Willow Project, being approved in the US, mass deforestation, intense wildfires in Canada, the Amazon, Australia, etc., and other environmental catastrophes such as the genocide and ecological terror in Palestine by the hands of Israel, it seems like nothing else matters but doing as much as I possibly can as an individual in this global fight. But we don't have to face this solely as individuals. It's time to create a community intent on taking action and making change for our future.

Mission

Our Goal

My goal is to run 7 marathons in 7 days around Central Park this summer, from June 15th to June 21st, in an attempt to raise money to fight climate change and spread awareness about the global powers that are making climate change worse.

Our Inspiration

I am inspired by people like Erchana Murray-Bartlett, who ran 150 marathons in 150 Days while partnering with The Wilderness Society and raising over $100,000 to help protect Australia's ecosystem.

The Impact

This project will hopefully help others become more informed and receptive to transition our current global infrastructure into a more sustainable future, with team-work and collaboration at the forefront. I will continue to care immensely about the environment, and I hope to inspire others to care too. I believe that is the best way to actuate change...
